Privacy Policy
Find Anything (package com.ram.findanything) · Last updated: 7 October 2026
Short version: Find Anything does not collect, upload or share any of your data.
The app has no internet permission, so it cannot send anything from your phone.
What the app does with your files
- It lists, opens and manages files on your phone's storage, when you allow it.
- To let you search inside files, it reads the text in your PDFs, documents, photos and screenshots
on your phone (including on-device text recognition) and keeps a search index in the
app's private storage. This index never leaves your device.
- Files you move to the Private locker are stored in the app's private storage. Your locker PIN is
never stored; only a protected (salted, hashed) form of it is kept on the phone.
- Edited PDFs, documents and converted images are saved as new files in your storage.
Permissions
- All files access / storage: to browse and manage all your files as a file manager.
- Photos, videos and audio: to show, organise and search your media.
- Notifications (optional): to show progress while files are being made searchable.
- Foreground service: lets the app finish making your files searchable after you switch
to another app, with a progress notification and a "Stop for now" button. The reading happens on
your phone; nothing is uploaded.
- Biometrics (optional): to open the Private locker with your fingerprint. Your fingerprint is
checked by Android; the app never sees it.
Data collection and sharing
We collect no personal data, no usage analytics and no crash reports, and share nothing with third
parties. There are no ads and no accounts. Text recognition uses Google's ML Kit, which runs entirely on
your phone; because the app has no internet access, nothing is sent to Google either.
Data retention and deletion
Everything the app stores (search index, settings, Private locker files) stays on your phone. Clear the
app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app, to delete it. Before uninstalling, move files out
of the Private locker if you want to keep them; Android may offer to keep the app's data when you uninstall.
Children
The app isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect any data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
